CAS Chairman since 2004, Ian has over 30 years’ experience in building innovative high growth technology companies. He has personally invested in over 40 start-ups and served on the boards of Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Funding Council and as co-chair of the Scottish Science Advisory Board.
With a background in customer services management, Ken is passionate about customer retention, team engagement and commercial value. He recently led our move to employee ownership - his focus is fulfilled employees serving clients well.

Pam is the woman in charge! She manages the office, takes care of all our finances, and liaises with suppliers and customers alike. With many years experience in all aspects of Company Finance and Administration, and the advantage of an IT background, she is a very handy person to have around.
Lynne is responsible for all CAS marketing, with a particular focus Workpro Case and Complaints Management software. With a background in IT sales and a degree in Marketing, her role involves listening to and understanding the needs of clients, working in partnership with Workpro users and CAS colleagues to ensure our product strategy and market approach is in line with current and future business requirements, as well as technology and market trends.

We proudly became an employee owned company in January 2014. Our team has always been conscientious, hardworking and professional, but we think employee ownership has enabled us to harness and use our different skills with even more focus. Ken Naismith took over as Chief Executive when our former Managing Director, Dave Wells retired after more than 25 years with the company.

CAS Managing Director, Dave Wells, made a presentation to Wing Commander Mike Toft, Spadeadam Station Commander, to mark an unbroken 25 year relationship (still going strong!). Annual CAS-hosted Burns Suppers have been a long-standing feature of what is a great working realationship.
Our first complaints management system was Lotus Notes based. In 2006 we developed a version based on Microsoft technology, the start of the Workpro family of case management products.
Our first contract for a complaints management solution for the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman. We are proud to still count them as our customer, now using the latest version of Workpro.
CAS became a Limited Company following a management buyout.
Work started on a Course Administration System for midwife outplacements and training administration for Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery. At around the same time CAS was also working on a cremator controller system, real cradle to grave coverage!

CAS was born, starting off life as a Technology Transfer Unit of Heriot-Watt University. Scotland's first software development company! Early projects included a robot arm system and a starplate scanning system for the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh.
